The Chairman of Gulf Craft, Mohammed Hussein Alshaali himself a highly experienced sailor grasped these changes and decided to create a new brand for this growing market. Research revealed the need to produce a brand that represented values such as reliability, seaworthiness, stability and ruggedness like a four-wheel drive car of the sea. A key element of the design brief for the new Nomad 65 design was to produce a yacht that is extremely seaworthy, with the choice of the hull design being a critical factor. This semi-displacement hull- a type that combines the best of planing and displacement hull configurations that the company terms a 'hybrid' really does perform in rough sea conditions.
